About Čistka
Čistka is a cleaning company from Zagreb specializing in deep cleaning of furniture, rugs, carpets, and floors. The company serves residential and commercial clients across Zagreb and surrounding areas.
Because customers usually search for cleaning services locally, Čistka wanted to strengthen its visibility in Google for high-intent searches related to deep cleaning and upholstery cleaning.
My Role
I was the lead SEO specialist responsible for developing and executing the overall SEO strategy for Čistka. I was involved in the project from March 2024 to September 2025.
The Challenge
Before starting SEO, Čistka faced several obstacles:
- The website was relatively new and had little to no domain authority
- The company competed against smaller but already established local cleaning businesses that had been present in Google for years
- Competitors already ranked for local keywords and had stronger visibility in Google Maps
- The business was already using Google Ads successfully, but wanted to complement paid traffic with a long-term organic strategy
- Most service-related searches such as "deep cleaning Zagreb" or "rug cleaning Zagreb" were dominated by competitors
As a result, Čistka depended heavily on paid advertising and had limited visibility in organic search results.
Our Goal
The goal was to build a strong organic presence and reduce reliance on paid traffic by helping Čistka rank for local, service-based searches. The strategy focused on:
- Increasing organic traffic
- Ranking for local keywords related to cleaning services
- Converting more website visitors into leads and bookings
What We Did
1. Focus on Organic SEO Content
We built an SEO strategy around high-intent keywords related to Čistka's core services. Instead of focusing only on the homepage, we created and optimized dedicated pages for the services they offer. This helped Google better understand what services Čistka offers and improved the likelihood of ranking for relevant searches.
2. On-Site SEO Optimization
We optimized the most important landing pages across the website. This included:
- Improving title tags and meta descriptions
- Optimizing headings and page structure
- Adding internal links between services, locations, and blog content
- Expanding landing pages with unique, keyword-focused text
Each service page received original content tailored to the specific service and target keyword.
3. Educational Content
We created blog content designed to educate potential customers and move them closer to booking a service. The idea was that people would have a stain they can't clean, read about how to clean it on our blog, and call us if they couldn't get it fully out. The articles focused on common customer questions and concerns, such as:
- How often should a sofa be professionally cleaned?
- What is included in deep cleaning?
- Can old stains be removed from furniture?
- What to do if you spill wine?
This content attracted additional traffic, built trust, and naturally promoted Čistka's services.
Collaboration Details
During the collaboration, we:
- Optimized landing pages with unique, SEO-focused text
- Wrote niche blog articles that solved customer problems and promoted the client's services
- Created dedicated pages targeting local search intent across Zagreb
- Improved the website's UI and UX to make navigation and booking easier for users
The UI and UX improvements included a clearer page structure, better calls to action, and a simpler path from search to booking.
Result
Through a combination of local SEO, content creation, and on-site optimization, Čistka built a stronger presence in Google and created a source of organic leads. In the past 16 months, Čistka has received roughly 500 clicks per month.
Instead of relying only on Google Ads, the company was able to generate additional visibility and attract customers organically through local searches.
